Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: [DATE]

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out what you may and may not do with Callable's voice, messaging, AI and connectivity services. It protects our customers, our network, the carriers we connect to, and the people who receive communications sent through Callable. It forms part of your agreement with us. If you break it, we may suspend or terminate affected services.

You are responsible for your own use and the use of anyone you allow onto your account.

Prohibited content and conduct

You must not use Callable to transmit, store or facilitate anything that is:

  • Illegal — unlawful under any applicable law, or that infringes someone else's rights (including intellectual property).
  • Harmful or abusive — harassment, threats, hate speech, or content that is defamatory, obscene, or exploits or endangers children.
  • Deceptive or fraudulent — scams, phishing, spoofing a caller or sender identity you are not authorised to use, or impersonating a person or organisation.
  • Malicious — malware, or activity intended to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to any network or system.

Messaging rules (SMS, RCS, WhatsApp, email)

  • Send messages only to recipients who have opted in and have a reasonable expectation of hearing from you.
  • Always honour opt-outs (e.g. STOP) promptly, and clearly identify yourself as the sender.
  • No unsolicited bulk messaging (spam), and no content prohibited by the relevant channel's own policies (for example the WhatsApp Business and carrier messaging rules).
  • Do not evade filtering, use misleading sender IDs, or "snowshoe" traffic across numbers to avoid limits.

Voice rules

  • No unlawful robocalling, and no auto-dialling or pre-recorded calls without the consent required by law.
  • Present only caller line identity (CLI) you are entitled to use; do not spoof CLI to mislead.
  • No traffic pumping, access stimulation, or artificially inflated traffic (AIT).
  • Comply with telephone preference / do-not-call registers and local calling-time rules.

Fair use

Our plans are intended for normal business use. We may apply fair-use limits (for example on concurrent channels, calls or messages per second, and total volume) to protect service quality for everyone. Sustained use far beyond a typical account for your plan, use that degrades the network, or use that drives abnormal costs may lead us to rate-limit, re-price or discuss a more suitable plan with you. We will be reasonable and, where practical, give notice.

Numbers and emergency calling

Use telephone numbers only as permitted and keep registration details accurate. Understand and honour any emergency-calling limitations of the services you use, and make them clear to your own users.

Reporting and enforcement

Report abuse to abuse@callable.io. We investigate reports and may remove content, rate-limit, suspend or terminate services, and cooperate with law enforcement and regulators. Where safe and lawful, we will give notice; serious or ongoing abuse may be acted on immediately.
